StarFun Games
Drive Away Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Drive Away is a mobile game by StarFun Games. It saves your progress on your device. From version 1.1.0 it shows ads, which are served by advertising partners that collect some device data, and it offers optional purchases through Google Play. This policy explains what is collected, by whom, and the choices you have.
StarFun Games ("we", "us"; also written Starfun Games) is an indie game studio in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This policy covers Drive Away for Android (package com.starfungames.driveaway), version 1.1.0 and later, until we update it. Versions 1.0.x had no ads or purchases. Our website has its own Privacy Notice (https://starfungames.com/en/privacy).
1. What the game saves on your device
To save your game, Drive Away keeps a small amount of game data in its private app storage on your device:
- Progress: best score, coins, the cars and paint colors you own, your selected car, missions, weekly event progress, and when your next free gift is ready.
- Settings: sound, music, vibration, and reminder choices, and whether you have finished the tutorial.
- Counters the game uses to pace itself: how many runs and play sessions you have played, and which reminders were scheduled.
This data does not identify you and is not sent to us or to anyone else.
To delete it, uninstall the game, or open Android Settings > Apps > Drive Away > Storage and tap Clear storage (menu names vary by device). Because we never receive this data, we cannot restore lost progress.
2. Device backups
If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the game's saved data in your device backup to your Google account and restore it on a new device. Google handles these backups under your Google account settings, and we cannot see them. You can turn backup off in Android Settings.
3. Reminders (notifications)
Drive Away can remind you when a free gift or weekly reward is ready. Reminders are off until you turn them on, and Android then asks you for permission to show notifications.
Reminders are local notifications: the game schedules them on your device. There is no push notification server and no notification token, and nothing about your reminders leaves your device. If your device restarts, the game asks Android to restore reminders that were already scheduled.
You can turn reminders off at any time in the game's Settings or in Android Settings.
4. What the game does not do
- No accounts, sign-in, or contact details.
- No analytics, tracking, or crash reporting tools of our own (the ad partners below collect their own data).
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, files, camera, or microphone.
- No chat, multiplayer, or content shared with other players.
You can play without an internet connection; ads simply do not load then. Apart from the ad partners and Google Play described below, the game does not send information about you over the internet. Links in the game's Settings, such as the link to this policy, open in your web browser, where our website's Privacy Notice applies.
5. Android permissions
- Show notifications: only for the reminders you turn on.
- Run at startup: restores your scheduled reminders after your device restarts.
- Control vibration: for vibration feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
- Network access (full network access, view network connections): to load ads and to talk to Google Play for purchases.
- Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) and Android ad services (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): used by our ad partners to show and measure ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (names vary by device).
- In-app billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): lets Google Play handle purchases.
- Keep awake and foreground service (WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE): added by Android libraries the ad partners use to schedule small background tasks, such as sending ad measurements.
6. Ads, purchases, Google Play and Unity
Ads (Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads)
Drive Away shows ads through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service from Unity Technologies, with the ironSource Ads and Unity Ads networks (both part of Unity). Most ads are optional videos you choose to watch for a reward, such as continuing a run or doubling your coins. The game may also show a full-screen ad between runs, never during a run.
To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, these partners collect and process, on their own servers: device and advertising identifiers (including the Android advertising ID); approximate location derived from your IP address; your interactions with ads (for example views and taps); and technical diagnostics such as device model, operating system and app version. They may share this data with advertisers and their own partners as described in their policies. We do not receive this data in a form that identifies you; we see only totals such as the number of ads shown and the revenue they earned.
The first time ads appear, the game asks whether you agree to ads picked for you (personalised ads). If you say no, the partners are told to show only generic ads that do not use your personal data for targeting. You can change this at any time in the game's Settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings, and limit personalised ads within some ads using their privacy icon. Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy, which covers Unity Ads and Unity LevelPlay, is at https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.
Purchases
Remove Ads and the Starter Pack are optional one-time purchases made through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment under its own terms and Privacy Policy; we never see your card or payment details. Google gives us an order record (such as order number, product, price and country) so we can handle refunds and accounting. The game stores on your device which products you own, and asks Google Play to restore them if you reinstall.
Google Play
You download and update Drive Away through Google Play, which Google handles under its own Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google may give us crash reports and statistics about the game's stability and performance in the Google Play Console, such as device model, Android version, and crash details. These reports do not include your name or contact details, and we use them only to fix bugs and improve the game.
Unity
Drive Away is built with the Unity game engine from Unity Technologies. Apart from the ads described above, Unity Analytics, Unity crash and performance reporting, and Unity diagnostic data collection are switched off, and the game uses no other Unity online service. Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy is at https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.
No one else
Apart from the ad partners and Google described above, we do not sell, rent, or share data from the game with anyone.
7. Children
Drive Away is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age that applies in your country), and we tell our ad partners that the game is not child-directed. The game has no chat or social features. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
Your game data stays on your device, so you control it: clear the app's storage or uninstall the game to delete it. We hold no game data about you to access, correct, or delete. For data the ad partners hold, use the choices above or contact Unity through its privacy policy; you can also reset your advertising ID so it is no longer linked to past ad activity.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR. If you have a question or request, email us. We will respond within 30 days where required by law, or within a reasonable time otherwise. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, as described in our website's Privacy Notice.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of Drive Away adds anything else that collects or shares data, such as analytics or accounts, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety section for Drive Away before that version is released. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
10. Contact
StarFun Games, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Email hello@starfungames.com with the subject line "Drive Away privacy".
